Miss Emma Sue and her winter doooo. She is such a scraggle muffin..

 We have like a short hallway from the main hall to our bedroom. I put a sheer curtain up just to filter out some of the view from the hall. I stuck it up there with an old shower curtain rod and pinned a piece of lace around it to make it drape.

 My Baxter Bean will turn 10 this March. He is so good. He curled up in my wicker chair in the bedroom for a long winter's nap.

Miss Macy Claire Bear was modeling for me one day. She said she more of a natural colored collar but I told her it was okay and just to go with it.

I got into the mood to change up our bedding. I wanted something more spring like. Well I ended up with Chocolate Brown. Brown like the bare naked branches before the buds come.






It's 19 degrees tonight. For some reason it feels colder than it did the other day when the wind chill was -0.. Oh how I have missed blogging... I hope I am back for a long time. I use this as my online journal..scrapbook...memory book.. and cook book. I love documenting my life...if not for anyone else, for myself...

The other day while blogging about Baxter I mentioned that he was touchy, feely type of pussy cat. He prefers to have one or ALL paws touching you while he is lounging. As I typed he did this....he is such a bebe...

Baxter the Bean

Baxter was found lounging on top of a cooler we had in the kitchen. It is race season so every weekend the cooler gets used. I unload it, clean it and set it next to the door. Rinse and Repeat.. every weekend. Baxter thought he'd hold it down for a bit. I could do a whole blog on his odd location for daily cat nap. As I type he is lying here with his head on my arm and paw on my hand...He's a touchy feely kind of cat. He would prefer to have all 4 paws touching. Oh he just moved right paw to touch me.. If I set here long enough he will swing his back legs around so they can touch too. hang on.. I will try to get a pic...BRB...lol Tune in another day to see the outcome. He's a very tired old man.. He has been teaching Skeeter how to become a Jedi at night. I love my little man..he's is such a love bug.

Last Winter was terrible..

snow and more snow.

I couldn't wait for winter to end.

Then Spring hit and we had terrible rains.

Then came the Summer heat.

At one point we had 17 days over 90 degrees.

My car would show 112 when I got off work. Hot Hot Hot..

So the other day I noticed Baxter's feet. He has never had long hair/fur on his feet. This year it is growing like crazy. I wonder if he or his body knows something we don't.

So check out your animal's feet. Are they hairier than normal?

Graduation Party 2011

In June we had the oldest monster's graduation party. This is our first of 3 graduation parties so we found what worked and what didn't.

I made this banner. It just didn't turn out like I wanted it to. I don't know everyone else's look so fresh and cheery. It served the purpose. Next time I will go bigger or don't go at all.

Here we displayed some of her pics and awards. I bought that graduation photo album and cute card stock to fit into the slots. I had her friends and family sign a card of good wishes, tips or stories. She is taking it to college with her. I also cut up the graduation program and put in the sleeves. Now when she is 40+ she can go back and remember exactly who all graduated with her. I was not even interested in trying to make and decorate a card box. I actually thought it was a waste of time so... I bought wrapping confetti strips and put them in my big brandy snifter as a card box. The dessert spread. We also had pulled pork, chicken, green beans, macaroni/cheese and baked beans..all handmade by ME. For some reason I didn't take any pictures them.

Oh these brownies were to die for. I bought them at GFS as a large sheet and then cut them and placed them on these cute little square plastic trays. They were a hit.

I had monster 3 and her friend assemble the graduation cap Reese Cup hat. We used foot by the foot for the tassle. Do you like my serving plate. I placed a white bowl upside down and then the matching plate on top. It gave some height to the plate so you could reach it easier.

The fruit kabobs were a big hit. I had a styrofoam block but it wouldn't stand up so I put it in a casserole pan and it worked perfect. The pickles and olives were not such a hit.

These are lemon pudding shots. I bought the plastic shot glasses at GFS. I thought it was a neat spin on the PF Changs desserts but they didn't go too either.

After a long day of partying Baxter needed a little alone time with his daddy. He is just not a party animal.
